Ruth has been performing throughout the Chicagoland area in concerts and gigs ranging from weddings to retirement homes to home concerts. She enjoys collaboration with other musicians in a variety of settings including church preludes, recitals, and outdoor concerts. She is the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Skyline String Quartet and Chicago Classic Strings.
In addition to her love of sharing classical music, Ruth can be heard regularly participating with her church's worship music team and frequently plays at other local churches. In 2019, Ruth performed the Vivaldi Double Cello Concerto with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. She has played in several local concert series both as a soloist but also in larger ensembles such as cello duets, harp and flute trios, string quartets, and chamber orchestras. She recently developed recitals with pianist Janna Williamson focusing on Bach and Beethoven as well as a French program the year before. Ruth has also played with choirs such as the Apollo Chorus of Chicago, the Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale and Anima Children's choir. On the wedding circuit, Ruth performs everything from Classical standards to Soundtrack arrangements to Pop arrangements for cello and other instruments.
